| On Dec 17th, 2012, one of our academic staff has been invited as a guest speaker at Maritime Forum 4/2012 organised by the Maritime Tactical Centre (PUSTAKMAR), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Base, Lumut Perak. Assoc. Prof. Aminuddin Md Arof, who was the guest speaker at the forum, presented a paper entitled "Maritime Law Enforcement. Issues and Challenges". The forum that started at 8.30 am was participated by about 100 officers and staff of PUSTAKMAR and the RMN fleet. Among the senior participants were Commandant of PUSTAKMAR, Captain Ahmad Abdullah RMN and the Senior Officer Afloat of the RMN Fleet, Captain Abdul Halim Shaari RMN. Many questions and issues relating international maritime law enforcement were discussed, making it a lively forum that lasted until 10.30 am. It is hoped that this forum would be one of the many interactions that could further strengthen the good relationship between UniKL and the RMN. |
